The Maori Sports Development Officer position is delivered by Jimmy Aupouri.
Just recently implemented into the organisation in 2006, this position is funded by Te Puni Kokiri with the aim to assist in achieving the strategic direction of "Realising Maori Potential".
The only position of its kind in Sports Trusts, Sport Gisborne aims to use the position to deliver Sport Development initiatives to Maori Sports Clubs and organisations while encouraging these environments to become 'hubs' of physical activity for the whanau these clubs provide for.
