New Zealand Secondary School Sports Council
Secondary School Sport

The role of the RSD (Regional Sports Director) is to organise and run sports events, provide resources and help facilitate educational sporting opportunities for the nine secondary schools within the Tairawhiti region.

This program is the sole responsibility of Sue Croskery who is the first point of contact for school sports coordinators in which there is a close working relationship. Sue attempts to work with regional sporting associations to promote their sport and to work together utilising each other’s resources and skills while running events.

Promotion of SPARC initiatives through such programmes as Sportsmark, Fairplay, Sport Leader and SportSCID are all actively worked on, also the introduction of Sports Ambassadors who are some of New Zealand’s leading sports people to our students through achievers seminars.

Sue also helps within the schools as far as assistance with internal events, support for events outside the school and sports equipment
