Club Assist Preparation

The Club Assist programme has been developed to help improve the capability of sports clubs. Club Assist programme provides clubs with a diagnostic assessment tool so they can assess their club structure, organisation and performance. Current best practice is outlined to allow clubs to measure themselves against and to identify strengths and weaknesses within their organisation.

A member of the Development Team spends approximately an hour and a half with a cross section of club members collecting information. This information is then analysed and recommendations are made to the club as to what needs to be improved on to achieve Club Assist.

The Development Team is then able to help implement any changes or improvements recommended. The timeframe in which clubs have the dedicated support of the Development Team to complete the recommendations is 12 months from the date that the self assessment is carried out.

Once the 12 month period has passed and the recommendations have been implemented by the club through formal evidence, Sport Gisborne Tairawhiti will present the club with the "Club Assist" Award. The presentation includes a framed certificate recognising the club's achievement, and a letter of reference that can be used when making applications for grants.

If your club is interested in becoming a Club Assist club please contact Matt Cairns, by email mattc@sportgisborne.org.nz or phone 8689943
