Sport Gisborne Tairawhiti (SGT) is seeking two enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated sportsminded individuals for the positions of:
Director of Coaching (1.0FTE)
This position focuses on developing and delivering an effective regional Coaching strategy. This is a leadership position that may include some active coaching roles and is aligned with SPARC’s CoachForce
initiative.The role will link with the Sport Development Team and target the recruitment, development and retention of coaches in Tairawhiti. The Director of Coaching will complement the Sport Development team in achieving its programme goals.
Club Development Coordinator (1.0FTE)
This newly created position has been established to provide hands-on support for Regional Sports
Organisations (RSO) and Sports Clubs to become more effective deliverers of sport and to provide opportunities for athletes, coaches and officials through education, recognition and resources.
The Primary objectives are to improve the internal capability of Tairawhiti sports clubs and to promote the value of sport at the club level.
The successful applicants should possess a passion for sport and a healthy active lifestyle and a desire to promote these values amongst the wider Tairawhiti sporting community.
Appropriate Sport and Recreation, Coaching and Management qualifications are essential along with relevant Sport and Recreation experience.
