Today we had the unique privilege of connecting with Hon. Paul Goldsmith, the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. We discussed Tairawhiti’s community challenges that link to high deprivation, and our innovative approach to building strong, resilient communities through fantastic projects such as the re-invigoration of the Tairawhiti Softball Association.
Competition time!
We’re in the process of redesigning our very successful Wednesday Sport Program. Wednesday After-School Sport is an active response to the dwindling sports participation rates in our region. Every Wednesday hundreds of students from four Gisborne high schools take part in a range of sports at venues around the city.
Next year, we want to give the program a face lift starting with a new name and a fresh set of activities on offer. We need YOUR feedback to come up with a new name and suggestions for sports that YOU would like offered next year.
